How to be prepared for Christmas, Easter and Festive orders this year
How to be prepared for Christmas, Easter and Festive orders this year
Every year in September or October butchers get their triplicate order books ready to take orders.
They know this approach takes a lot of time, leads to many different mistakes, lots of manual work adjusting and collating order requirements
Yet they accept that this is the way they need to do it.
When there is another way
There is nothing worse than when a customer comes in and wants to alter their Christmas orders and they have lost their order docket and do not know when they placed the order or their pick up date.
You have to hunt through a heap of order books to try and locate this.
This always seems to happen when the shop is super busy.
There is a better way, watch below to compare methods.
Shane operates 2 butcher stores and implemented the PBSA system in his new shop in November including training 20 new staff and in his existing store.
With not a lot of time to train new and old staff listen to how this made a big difference for this first Christmas.

The PBSA butcher POS software has been built to support butchers to manage their Christmas, wholesale and online orders through the holidays and after as a complete solution.
The PBSA butcher POS system can receive orders in various ways.
Filter orders via date range in the Sales Command Centre, and print your consolidated order requirements list (boning/cut up list). This report will list the exact quantities required for each item/PLU/cut for the selected grouping of orders.
Your staff simply follow the cut list. You can also print out each sale order if this information is required by your butchers during the cut-up process.
The touch screen system has a label printing mode. In this mode, a staff member opens the various orders and can weigh each line with a product label automatically printed so that it can be placed on the packaged product. As the items are packaged, the staff member is also able to print out a customer address label to place on the box.
The labelling process supports standard product titles; weight and price labels; and barcode price inclusive labelling if you supply supermarkets or clients who resell your products. This type of labelling will automatically produce pricing with the customer mark-up displayed and included in the price inclusive barcode so when received by your client they can simply scan in the product for sale to their customers.
Product ingredient, product nutrition and recipe labels are also supported.
You can set the order capacity of each day to ensure you can manage the preparation and pickup work load.
Customers come in, you can scan their order docket or search via name or mobile to find the order.
You collect the packed and labelled order and then system then know the exact amount the customer needs to pay.
Press 1 button and take the payment via EFTPOS or cash.
