PBSA POS 2.16.x Release Notes
Changes have been made to the left navigation panel. The panel now only expands out when the hamburger icon is pressed, selecting a relevant menu item will return the navigation to the minimised view. A notification icon down the bottom will display when notifications have been created. See the new module 'Notifications' for more details.
Functionality has been added to the touch module to enable the prompt and addition of related products. When the commit button is pressed relevant related products will be displayed.
In the example below an iPhone 6 was added to the sale and two relevant related products are available to be added to the sale. Simply select the products you want to add to the sale or sale order.
If no items are to be selected simply press the 'OK' button to continue or press the 'Cancel' button it you want to return to the sale screen.
The prompt for related products can be turned off and on via the users settings.
A new product search form has been added to the touch module. Access to the search form is via the options screen and then under the Other Option.
The search form will display a list of products ordered via Part#. The user can flick through the list and select a row or enter a Part # or Product Title into the search field. The search is a predictive search and will narrow the products in the below data grid. When the relevant row is selected press the 'Select' button to add the product to the sale or sale order.
Select the relevant lay-by or normal sale order.
Note: This form will not appear if lay-bys have not been set up in settings first.
When entering in a payment via gift vouchers the 'Gift Voucher' form will appear. Scanning the gift voucher will return any found vouchers, then press the ok button.
If the voucher covers the entire sale then on 'OK' the sale will be paid, alternatively the user will be taken to the payment form for other payment types to be added.
Gift Voucher numbers can now be created automatically. Go to 'Gift Vouchers' settings and check the 'Gift Voucher Numbers' option. Then enter the Next Gift Voucher Number. Numbers will then auto increment from this starting point. For thermal only a gift voucher can be printed out also by checking the 'Print Thermal Gift Voucher'. The voucher will print with a barcode. Please note that it is recommended for the voucher number to be a minimum length of 3 digits if printing is required.
On the payment form a 'Show Taskbar' button has been added. Pressing this will reduce the vertical height of the touch module temporarily to enable the user access to the taskbar.
If a non 'Live' stocktake is active then the user will be prompted with a message explaining they can not add a product while a stocktake is operational. A graphic is also displayed down the bottom of the screen.
A new feature has been added to enable the primary products picture to be displayed when a product is added in touch. If a primary picture has not been added to the product properties nothing is displayed.
To turn on this feature go to Global settings> Touch, then check the option, 'Show Product Picture'. The time that the picture is displayed can be set in seconds. Clicking on the picture will close the picture also.
A backspace button has been added to the touch keyboard, keypanel. If a barcode is entered incorrectly the backspace button can be used to make corrections.
An option 'Exclude products with barcodes' has been added. This option can be checked if the button type is 'Product Category'. When this option has been checked products will not display if they have a barcode.
Another option 'Use image for items within this category' has been added. This option can be checked if the button type is 'Product Category'. When this option has been checked any product under the relevant product category will display an image if one has been set.
A setting under 'Product Default's has been added for the 'Product Search'. Select either Part#, Title, Barcode or Supplier Code. When the product form is opened on the search tab the cursor will go to the chosen setting. Please note that the barcode option will only work if the 'Non predictive' search option is chosen.
The loyalty points of the customer will display on the top left of the customer display screen.
More search options have been added to assist with linking payments with customers. The search via invoice button has been added.
This button will open the 'Select a sale' form that enables Sale / Invoice numbers amongst other search options to be entered. The search results can then be selected
Customer payment can now be processed with no payment entered and only discounts.
A new module has been created to list relevant notifications for POS Service, Email, SMS, Campaigns and Interstore. A notification count will display on the left navigation panel if there is an error with the POS Service, Error sending emails or SMS or a product conflict with Interstore.
A new tab, 'Preferences' has been created for new settings and relevant existing settings.
The software now supports EFTPOS payments via Tyro.
This option has been added to the EFTPOS Type settings under EFTPOS
New payment type options have been added to support Tyro payment options. These have also been added to the till reconciliation process.
On the 'Price Barcodes' tab a new setting has been added for Label Type. The selected label option will be printed when the customer is chosen. If the card does not have one set ie "default" then the global setting will apply.
A new default has been set for 'Automatic Emailing'. When new customers are added their properties will be populated with this setting.
A local setting for 'Get weight automatically' has been added. Setting this value to 'No' will mean the user will have to press the 'OK' button before the weight quantity is applied.
A freight tax code can now be selected.
The comment section has moved to its own tab.
Payment history in Sales, Sales Orders, Customer Payments and Customer Returns have an optional 'EFTPOS Information' form that can be accessed by clicking the blue arrow icon for payments created via EFTPOS.
Additional information has been added to the Stock tab.

Under the Preferences tab a setting for A4 receipts has been added. If default is selected then the global setting will print. This features enables different A4 receipt types to be set for different customers.
Further font sizes have been added and the ability to change colours.
A new label type has been added called 'Product Barcode'. Three options can be turned off or on, Print Barcode, Print Best Before, Print Nutritional Info. See below for an example of the label.
A new option to add a logo has been added.
To import data that will create a new dimension product the following columns are introduced:
StyleCode, Dimension1Name, Dimension1Value, *Dimension2Name, *Dimension2Value, *Dimension3Name and *Dimension3Value
Fields marked with an * are optional.
StyleCode
The dimension group code, this is the code of the product header that will be created or that the product belongs to. If multiple products belong to the same header they will share this code. This code will also be the prefix of the part# that will be created for this item.
DimensionName 1-3
The name of the dimension in the header, example size, shape, colour, style.
DimensionValue 1-3
The value of the dimension, example: large, small, green, blue.
Note: Try to limit the char size of your values because the product titles and part# fields are based on the combined values of the stylecode/title and the dimension values. See table below of an example of rows of import data and the titles and part# of the products that are created:
Validation
The importer will try to validate your data in a combination of ways, before going through the import process and mapping all the fields to validate the data, use these rules as a guide to getting your import file ready. Note you can import a mix of dimension products and normal products within the same file. Validation for product dimensions only occurs on those rows where a style code and/or dimension value has been populated.
Our first example is a valid import file, and shows the output generated in POS:
What can make a dimension row invalid are the following rules:
- Contains a code/part# value, you need to leave this blank and use only the style-code. If you are doing an ‘update-only’ you will need a part#.
- Any dimension value and an empty style code.
- A style code, but an empty dimension1 value.
- A dimension1 value, but an empty dimension1name, and vice versa.
- Optional: A dimension 2 value, but an empty dimension 1 name and/or value, and so, for dimension3.
- A set of style code/dimension values that do not match.
- I.E. say you have the following dimension values in your import file with multiple rows:
- Both rows share the same style code, but the DimName1 values differ, as do the titles so both rows will be invalid.
- Further-more if a dimension header already exists in POS with the same style-code and one of the value in the table above differs in POS from the import row, again the row will be invalid.
- The import will let you know which rows fail the above test and why.
- The product title or code, which is made up of the styleCode/title and the dimension values exceeds the limit of 300chars.
- Duplicate rows ~ a row with the same style-code and all the same dimension values.
Product Headers and Pricing
If the products being imported contain varying prices, then the default price belonging to the header will be the minimum price. This is so when listing just a header before selecting a product the price is ‘starting from’.

- Purchase Order Import, has been modified so that any word fields with the words 'cost ex', will link up with the relevant header.
- Product Import has been modified to import the alternative title, button title, you tube link and keywords. It also check for supplier code duplicates for the same supplier.
- The 'Float In/Out' form now prints thermal receipts.
- The ability in touch to delete a part paid sales order has been added. The user will be prompted to choose the payment type for the returned money.
- Refunds can be reprinted easily after committed in Touch. A reprint can be process via the refund summary screen.
- The last payment date has been added on reprints of payment receipt both for thermal and curved A4 reports.
- Report, 'Sales by Customer' with option Breakdown via Invoices and Invoice Items, has a new column inc tax and the users details has been added for each invoice
- Report 'End of Day' has had some extra details added. Net Sales and Net Sales via Tax code. The layout has changed as also.
- Report 'Product Barcode Catalogue' has new options, Title only, Part # only, Part # and Title.
- The Add product form when closed and reopened will remember its position in the relevant module.
- Email command centre has been renamed to 'Communication command centre'. The form manages emails and SMS.
- Menu item for Stocktake has changed. A sub menu with two options "Single View" and "Multi View"
- If dockets are turned on, deleting an order will now print an order docket listing all the items with a note that the order has been deleted.
- Lead Management, opportunities tab a column for status has been added. Hovering over the status will display the status description.
- The default search option for the Lead Management can be set per user on the 'Properties' tab of User Properties.
- Creating or editing a customer in touch now has access to the country field.
- Search by barcode has been added to the Multi view stock take form
